Pretty sure the whole world knows by now that our second child is a girl. Although I was keeping my fingers crossed for a girl, I was trying not to get too ahead of myself because a boy would have been just as big of a blessing. I would hate to be one of those people who is disappointed by the sex of their baby.
Nonetheless, there have been so many boys in these parts that I found myself in a state of shock when the Tech announced the sex. It's still hard to believe. Tina and I were talking about it earlier and we don't know what to do with a girl. I guess it's fundamentally the same thing, but not really. Yea, they poop and pee the same and cry the same. But with a little more elegance? Not sure exactly how the difference in gender will change our family, but I am excited to find out.

Skateboards
It's a new love for Liam. It makes me a little nervous, but that is just the mom in me. There is a video on Gabba's website where Tony Hawk does some skating and I think that's where it started. Then Chris started showing him more videos. Then we stopped into Ron Jon's the other day and tried some out and he threw a FIT when we left. "My skateboard" "mommy- skateboard"
I asked Athena's aunt when her kids (who are all grown up) started skateboarding and biking and she said around 3! I don't want to be the kind of mom who shields her kids from doing anything that could cause scrapes, but I think I might just ask Chris to take over when it's time in that department and just not watch.

Busy Month
It's been a crazy and busy month and it's not over yet. Between recovering from vacation, packing for the move next weekend, and being pregnant, I have had zero time/energy to post much. I have stuff to post, but you may want to expect a lag in time for the next couple of weeks. Anywhoooo... here are some more pics that I didn't post on FB from our last day in California. We just had so much fun hanging out with family and getting "reacquainted". Enjoy...

Take It All In Ladies

You know those funny sized towels that hotels give you- I guess they are meant for your hair or something? Well, Liam pretty much rocked it.

A Recap on the Trip So Far

So far so good. Liam was incredible on the way here. 9 hours of traveling is never fun, but it went as well as it possibly could. Flights were not only on time, but we arrived early for both flights and Liam seemed completely unaffected by the pressure in cabin.
My favorite thing about the trip is how laid back it has been so far. I really didn't plan on anything except to "go into the city" a few times. But we definitely haven't been bored. Judy threw a fantastic party on Saturday where everyone got to see the "Famous Liam" and I got to meet a lot of people for the first time. Liam has loved all the attention he is getting and despite the complete lack of routine he is getting has been great. Maybe a bit more cranky than usual- but if that is all I have to deal with, I'll take it!
Yesterday we went into Santa Cruz and saw an amazing beach. Liam had a ball playing in the sand at the beach. It was very different from the beaches back home. There were rocks and waves and while other people were in swimsuits, we were in our "winter" clothes. Than we ended the day with a yummy dinner at Jack and Linda's where Jack gave Liam some guitar lessons.

20 Month Update
What a handful this little guy is. He is getting to that age where I can see traces of the terrible two's creeping in. Listening a little less and being alot more independent. One of his favorite words is "mine" which makes me wince every time I hear it. He knows what he wants and he wants it NOW. Even as I am typing this, I want to veer from the truth and say how perfect he is. The truth is I have to remember that this is just a phase we have to go through like everything else and if I am patient yet firm, the outcome will be a boy who listens and is respectful. That is what I am hoping for anyway.
On the brighter side, he says everything. He may not say it in full sentences, but he knows how to get his point across pretty clearly. And he picks up on EVERYTHING. The other day when we went to meet the couple that we are going to be renting from, we shook hands and greeted each other. When we got in the car, he took my hand and shook it up and down and said, "hiiiii, how are youuuuu?" in a cute high pitch voice.

Dancing Craze
This boy loves to dance. He bops his head and shakes his grove thing every time he hears music. He also does these weird breakdance freeze moves. We got a couple on tape, but it pales in comparison to seeing it in person.

Another Photo Shoot
Liam had a photoshoot at just 2 months. The same lady who did those photos was recruiting models to use in her portfolio so Liam posed once again. It was hilarious to see how NOT into it he was. It kinda surprised me how much being the center of attention seemed to make him incredibly uncomfortable. Perhaps modeling is not how he will pay his way through college. Nonetheless, she still got some cute pics. Here is the slide show of his pics. Note: his pics are only going to be online for 3 days, so there is a good possibility this slide show will be gone in 3 days too. :(
