10 Week Update

Wow- has it been 10 weeks already? It's weird- when you are pregnant you feel like the baby will never come, but once he is here- you can't remember a time without him. I know it's cliche- but oh so true! Anyway, Liam had a doctor's appointment today. I don't have to tell anyone who knows anything about us that he is a big boy. But how big you ask? Well, he is 14 lbs. and 25 inches long. He's in the 95th percentile in both categories. Dr Morrison said he was the size of your average 4 month old. I don't what I am doing to produce such fatty milk!

His fussiness is subsiding more and more everyday. Some days he even acts like what I think a "normal" baby would act like. For example, he took two- count 'em TWO- one and a half hour naps yesterday. Usually it takes me an hour to get him to sleep and he only sleeps for like 30-40 minutes. But I shouldn't complain- I still think he is pretty much perfect.

Obama '08

Isn't it a parents job to make decisions for them? Yea- that's what I thought. In that case, Liam is totally going for Obama. (Sorry kittyama- hope you still love us!)

And the beat goes on...

Liam had his 2 month birthday yesterday. He is doing very well. He fights sleep daily, but when he is rested and fed- he is a delight to be around. He talks and smiles alot and we are anticipating some giggles to come soon. The best part of him at this age is the 5-6 hours of sleep IN A ROW that we seem to be getting nightly.

I hope Liam is this cool when he is this age

Song for Liam

These are the lyrics from a song from the movie Juno. Chris and I sing it to Liam sometimes because it pretty much sums up how we feel about him...

All I Want Is You
By Barry Louis Polisar

If I were a flower growing wild and free
All I'd want is you to be my sweet honey bee
And if I were a tree growing tall and green
All I'd want is you to shade me and be my leaves

If you were a river in the mountains tall,
The rumble of your water would be my call
If you were the winter, I know I'd be the snow
As long as you were with me, let the cold wind blow

If you were a wink, I'd be a nod
If you were a seed, I'd be a pod
If you were the floor, I'd wanna be the rug
And if you were a kiss, I know I'd be a hug

If you were a castle, I'd be your moat
And if you were an ocean, I'd learn to float

You can hear it here...

Eli meets Liam

Liam looks tasty

Eli takes a bite

I'll take a Guiness, Please

I am sorry- but does this not look like a jolly, old Irish man that would buy you a drink at a pub?

Say Grandpa

Liam & Daddy have a talk

Everybody loves babies

Birth Centers Rock

This is a documentary that Nancy told me about. It seems really interesting to me. I don't necessarily believe that doctor's are only concerned about the money that can be obtained through birth, but I do believe that alot of unnecessary decisions are made during birth. I also hugely agree that society places fear in the minds of women in regards to birth. Giving birth naturally is the most empowering thing I have ever done. Your body knows what it is doing and takes over. It is true what they say in the trailer- once you give birth naturally, you feel like you can do anything.

Liam's first Jazz Brunch

The first Sunday of every month is a Jazz Brunch near Las Olas. We try to make as many as we can because they are a relaxing way to enjoy the day and friends. This was Liam's first and Cameron's second.

Thursdays are grandma/grandpa days

Grandpa gets Liam to smile at himself in the mirror while grandma asks, "What's the problem, kid?"
